Fundraising Campaign
The fundraising campaign will operate as in all charities on a number of levels. The Trustees have been fortunate in that over the passed eighteen months they have been in touch with a number of interested and supportive people through the work done to produce ‘Time and the Thames’.
Rivertime Boat Trust has already applied and received a grant from the Invesco Perpetual and the Waterways Trust towards the construction of the boat and is very grateful for this support.
Additionally contacts will be made with Grant Giving Trusts, local companies to encourage partnerships, the National Lottery and it is envisaged that there will be a number of third party recommendations. KidsOut will make contact with Rotary Clubs and advise on fundraising.
Marketing Communication for fundraising will be spearheaded by a public relations campaign overseen by Judith Diment , who has many years of experience working both with KidsOut and Rotary International.
It is envisaged that the launch of Rivertime Boat Trust will take place in one of Hobbs of Henley’s magnificent passenger boats. In the meantime market research has been carried out to establish the potential usage for the boat among disabled and disadvantaged groups. There has been universal interest.
There is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats. Simply messing'. Said Ratty in 'Wind in the Willows'. |
