Licened by Copyrights GroupThere are many community boats operating on the canals and rivers of England which provide facilities and a good time out for disabled and disadvantaged children and adults. However there is no such day boat on the Middle Thames between Windsor and Oxford .

In view of this the Rivertime Boat Trust has been formed firstly as a company limited by guarantee and now as a registered charity with the Charity Commission to fill this gap.

Objectives

Please donate to the Rivertime Boat Trust online now.The objectives of the charity can be summarised as follows:-

  • To provide and maintain a specially constructed boat and other facilities for the disabled and disadvantaged.
  • To work with other charities involved with the disabled and disadvantaged that have similar objectives.
  • To organise boat trips on the Middle Thames for disabled children and adults.

Matthew PinsentTrustees and Patron

Matthew Pinsent

We are delighted to have 4-time Olympic Gold Medallist Matthew Pinsent as our Patron. In one of the classic sporting moments of all time, Sir Matthew Pinsent led the Great Britain coxless four to victory at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. Just eight one hundredths of a second ahead of the Canadian Champions, the win booked Matt's place in Olympic history.

Simon Davis

Simon has been instrumental in the concept of the Rivertime Boat Trust after a career in the catering and hospitality industries. He worked as Marketing Director of Gardner Merchant and Sutcliffe Catering and was awarded the Institute of Marketing National Marketing Award on two occasions. RivertimeHe was a Governor of Oundle School and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Marketors.

With his wife, Pat, he grew their boat business from one boat to fifteen boats in as many years. He understands the management principles involved as well as the regulatory requirements of the boating industry as a Member of the Passenger Boat Association. His enthusiasm for the river is the driving force behind the Rivertime Boat Trust.

Patricia Davis

Pat has a life time experience of administration in the medical profession and over the passed 15 years has been a Partner, with her husband Simon, in the establishment, development and the running of a boat company on the Middle Thames. Having been involved running a boat business and having responsibility for the administration and management, she can help to create good practice as the Rivertime Boat Trust evolves.

Hobbs & Sons Ltd, Henley on ThamesJonathan Hobbs

Jonathan is a Director of Hobbs of Henley , which is a family company that has been associated with the River Thames for over 130 years. He is Chairman of the Henley Food Festival and also of Henley River Connections as well as being a Governor of Shiplake College and a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Watermen. He brings tremendous experience and boating knowledge to this charity.

 

Paul Wagstaffe MBE

Paul is Vice President of the Inland Waterways Association, Chairman of the Inland Navigation Committee for the Royal Yachting Association, a Member of Thames Regional Fisheries, Ecology and Recreation Advisory Committee of the Environment Agency and Secretary of the Thames Boating Traders Association.

He worked for 30 years for the British Marine Federation becoming Executive Director and he was also a Director of National Boat Shows Ltd organisers of the London and Southampton International Boat Shows. This was followed by 5 years as Customer Relations Manager at British Waterways operators of 2,000 miles of the UK Inland Canal and River System.

He was awarded an MBE for his work with the Inland Waterway Amenity Advisory Council and his work with community boats. Thus he brings great experience to the Rivertime Boat Trust.
